Our Guardian dog program, is where you get a puppy male or female on contract that still belongs to us for breeding.

This helps you get a high quality dog at a much lower cost, and we can continue our goals in producing well bred, well tempered German Shepherds. The dogs will already be in loving forever homes when they retire.

Some info on the Guardian home program: The puppies, or adults (depending on circumstances), come to you, are up to date on vaccinations and deworming. Guardian home is responsible for day to day care, keeping annual vet care, vaccines up to date. We split expenses for breeding such as health testing, and anything related to puppy care. If female is in the guardian home, at 2 years old we will do hips/elbows and then guardian home agrees to be available to bring her to our male of choice for breeding. Guardian home must not allow female to be in contact with any intact males while in heat. Guardian home will whelp litter. Guardian home gets a pup or price of pup from first litter and then we split the litters afterwards minus the 300 for each pup for VMH’s guarantees.  If VMH Shepherds keep back a pup to add to our program, the pick does not count on the sales from the litter.  Males are a little different, guardian home agrees to be available for us to breed females to said male, also agreeing not to allow male to breed any other female without our consent where we would get stud fee. At the end of the contract guardian home dogs get to stay with their families and retire. If you can no longer keep a guardian home dog it must be returned to us where we can place it accordingly.

Requirements for Guardian homes

German Shepherd Dog experience

Be within an hour of Allentown or Lebanon PA (Certain circumstances we may allow further)

No intact males in home

Own your home or if Renting proof that you are allowed to have a dog

Keep us informed on heat cycles, vet appointments

Bring to our vet of choice for health testing 

Bring to our male of choice for breeding

If have males being available for us to breed females 

Feed High quality food

Must be on Suregrow till at least 15 months old

Give Nuvet Vitamins

Socialize 

Groom to prevent mats 

Cover all vet bills not related to breeding

Exercise regularly
